Once the empty balloon is within the stomach, it is inflated with a sterile saline solution. When filled, the balloon is released by pulling the fill tube, leaving it floating freely within the stomach. Partly filling the stomach, the BIB will induce a feeling of satiety. HELIOSPHERE SYSTEM The Heliosphere System is a balloon inflated with air weighting 30 g. It is positioned in the upper stomach.
