The balloon placement does not require a surgical procedure.
You will be looked after, by a multidisciplinary team, consisting in, a gastroenterologist, a nutritionist and a psychiatrist.
A consultation with an anesthesisit is necessary before the procedure.. |

It allows confirming that the intra gastric balloon is right for you.
Your doctor informs you about the process of the program. You should ask all the questions which seem necessary.
It is important to evaluate, together with the gastro enterologist the advantages of the balloon as opposed to the potential risks. |

| Dietetic consulting |
The balloon is an efficient help to lose weight when associated with a dietary approach and a programme, aimed to modify your eating behaviour.
Cooking lessons might be useful to help you, modifying your eating habits.

| Psychothérapy consulting |
It enables to confirm whether your psychological state is compatible with the placement of the balloon ant it’s maintenance during 6 months.
If you have an unbalanced eating behaviour due to with psychological problems, you can decide to get help.
Groups of patients discussion can also give you support.

| Anesthesia consulting |
|
It is mandatory prior to any anaesthetic procedure even for an outpatient one.
You must inform your doctor about any drug you might be currently taking as well as any potential allergy.

All those information will be discussed within the medical team.
If there is no contraindication, you will be allowed to take an appointment for the placement of the intra gastric balloon.
A written document of information will be given to you by the gastroenterologist and the anaesthetist.
You will be able to discuss it with them before signing the informed consent.
